OTTER LAKE BOOSTER CLUB, INC.

Youth Free Ice Fishing Contest

A cold, breezy day greeted 136 youngsters who participated in the 7th annual Youth Free Ice Fishing Contest sponsored by the Otter Lake Booster Club, Inc. on Otter Lake north of Stanley.  This contest was for youth ages 15 and under accompanied by an adult on Saturday, February 9.

Each entrant received a bag of fishing items, a 7th annual button with a number on it for a drawing at the end of the contest, waxies and wigglers for bait if needed, and a ticket for a free hot dog and hot chocolate.  Club members were available to drill fishing holes and to help any anglers needing assistance.

Prizes were awarded for the largest fish in each of three categories:  Bluegills, Crappies, and Perch.  First place trophies and medallions to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th places were presented to the winners in each of two classes:  Class 1 for ages 10 and under; Class 2 for ages 11 – 15.
